Travel week 2 seemed to sneak up on me, and BAM! It was back on Trains, Planes, and Automobiles (RIP John Candy, God Bless You). I made my way back to Barcelona, Spain via aeroplane for the second time this semester. I traveled solo this trip and really gained an appreciation for this style of rambling. As a solo traveler, you become an observer first and foremost. I began noticing things that I never would have if I were in a group of friends; people, conversations, languages, nature, the flow of the society.
I can’t believe I am writing my first detailed post in about a month… Whoa! Where has time gone?
Looking back at my calendar, I see some good bike rides had, a few projects accomplished, a couple of exams have come and gone, and as I turn this page– yup, that is the end of October.
I look back on October– maybe I spread myself pretty thin, but I would argue to limit myself would limit my experiences here.
What’s new and What’s planned:
Hello all, so it’s time to update you on what I have been up to since the last blog. This will be shorter compared to the last few as I haven’t had as many crazy experiences since the then lol. So here we go on another exciting blog so get excited! Haha
Hello everyone, there is lots to catch you all up on so I will get right into it. I will try and keep this one a little shorter so you can finish reading it without falling asleep haha. So, what to talk about, well I think in this blog I will tell you all about the 2nd formal dinner we had ( I didn’t have time to blog about the first haha), my trip to Rome, and as promised in an early blog, I will talk about school a little for potential students. But we will keep that part brief lol.
It is amazing to me how quickly time goes here. Today I was thinking back on my first week here, by the time that first Friday had rolled around, it felt to everyone like we had been here a month. Every day felt like a week. It just hit me today that the program is done in a little over a month, which was a huge wake up call. I feel like there is still so much I have to do, not only with traveling but with my responsibilities here as well. We just got back from our first long travel weekend and we still have one more as well as our second travel week.
This week was great! We took a few days off from cycling due to the weather turning a little cold and wet. We did, however, pass the contagious cycling addiction on to another rookie enthusiast classmate, Russell. Ron had one more bike left to rent, so we got Russell all fitted up and ready. It was very rewarding to see his excitement and interest grow, as I was in his shoes just 4 weeks ago. (Seems impossible) It seems only natural to entertain the thought that a CIMBA cycling team is forming.
Things have been crazy here so I’ve just gotten the chance to write about my first travel week now! Sorry about the lateness. So I left for the first travel week at about 2:00 am on Saturday morning. Almost the entire school decided to go to Oktoberfest in Munich for the first part of the week and many got reservations on an overnight train.
There are two kids here that are photographers, Alan and Russle. Today, Alan and I rode down the way and found a quite country road. Him and I both share the hobby of photoing, only he actually knows what he’s doing. So this little ‘’shoot,'’ was him messing around, but it worked out for the both of us. He got to show his skills off and I got some real cool photos of something I love to do. Check out their websites,
