What’s new & What’s Planned

What’s new and What’s planned:
Hello all, so it’s time to update you on what I have been up to since the last blog. This will be shorter compared to the last few as I haven’t had as many crazy experiences since the then lol. So here we go on another exciting blog so get excited! Haha

So upon my return from Rome, I got really sick with a bad head and chest cold so I was laid up for a few days. Unfortunately I still had to go to class which was really tough as I was so tired and sick that it really didn’t help much to be there. But as you know, they are pretty strict on class attendance here so I figured I better go. Other than being sick, I haven’t had a chance to do a whole lot. I had planned on going to Florence last weekend but I was still pretty sick and so I decided to stay back and relax here to try and get better. In all honesty I’m really glad I stayed back, it was fun to stay here on a weekend again for once. This town really reminds me of my hometown so it was fun to stay and explore a little bit more. Friday most people left to go to either Venice or Florence so the few of us that stayed went to Crespano (a neighboring town about a kilometer from here) and hung out at a restaurant/bar for awhile. Jake, Chris, Alan, and I started playing table football with sugar packets and we ended up having a few really intense games hahah. Jake ended up going undefeated which is crazy because it was his first time playing. I used to play every study hall back in high school so I can’t believe I lost, especially to a rookie!! Lol. I’m half kidding, I really did play every study hall but I must have lost my touch, owell haha. I went home pretty early to get some rest and I planned on sleeping in Saturday morning until I woke up instead of setting an alarm. I went to bed around 11:30 so I figured I’d sleep till like 9:45 at the latest. Nope. I ended up waking up at 11:45!! Haha, just in time for lunch I guess, owell, it was amazing! I don’t think I’ve slept past 9 more than a few times this year so it was really refreshing. Saturday during the day I watched football almost all day and it was amazing. Football is by far my favorite sport so it was great to watch Iowa. Well the first three quarters sucked as they were losing 21 to 7 but the 4th quarter was awesome! I guess a win’s a win. As sad as I am to be missing this year, I think I would have had a heart attack watching them play like that!! Haha, it’s been nice to wake up and just see they won, but I would much rather see the games. After the Iowa game, we watched most of the Kansas game, and then we watched the Oregon vs. USC game till about 3am, so it was a long day of football! The past few weeks have also been pretty full with tests, quizzes, and projects so it’s been pretty crazy staying up on that.

So what else is new?? Well, we voted on superlatives for the Cimba year book and I won worst internal compass so that’s kind of funny. I get lost one or two times and somehow I get a reputation for having a terrible since of direction lol. I guess maybe it’s warranted. Also, the weather has officially turned to the rainy season I believe as it has been pretty rainy here and the cold has started to creep in. The other morning I woke up and noticed that the mountains behind our campus had gotten snow!! So now we have snow capped mountains and they are beautiful to look at. Every time I look at them it reminds me of Colorado and really makes me want to move out there. Living here I have pretty much decided that wherever I move, there will probably have to be mountains as they are just so beautiful to look at, and there is so much you can do when you live next to them. Hopefully this week won’t be too rainy as we have our second travel week this week, which is going to be awesome!
My parents decided to come over to visit during this travel week so that will be great to have them here. I can’t believe my mom decided to come over!! She hates flying, but I know that when she gets over here she will be so glad she decided to come over. I am really proud she decided to come over and I’m really looking forward to showing her some of the sights. It probably helped that they decided like two weeks ago they were coming so it didn’t give her very much time to worry about it or second guess it, so that was probably good. PS to my two sisters, I guess this means that Mom loves me most since she came over to visit me while in Europe and didn’t go over with you guys!! Haha I’m just kidding!! So they are flying into Venice today (Thursday) and that way they will get a chance to rest up and hopefully not be too jet lagged by the time I get there. We are staying one night in Venice then heading to Florence for a few days then Rome for another few days. They fly out next Saturday pretty early so Friday we will head back to Venice so they can get out in the morning. I am really looking forward to exploring Italy more. Most people are going to a bunch of different countries, but I really came over here to see Italy and get to know it so I’m happy to stay in Italy. To each their own I guess haha. Well that’s really all that’s new here. I will update you as soon as possible when I return so that’s something to look forward to. That also means it will probably be about a week and half until I get another blog up so until then Ciao!!
